Benefits of being a part of an electric co-op

Member-Owned Electric Cooperative

CoServ's Customers are also its Members – and they are the owners of the cooperative. As a non-for-profit, CoServ doesn't have shareholders and reinvests revenue back into operations and the communities it serves.

Member-Led Governance

Members elect CoServ's Board of Directors, who provide oversight and strategic direction for the cooperative. Elections take place leading up to the Annual Meeting each June. More details are available at CoServ.com/Elections.

Industry-Leading Reliability

CoServ is among the most reliable electric utilities in Texas, with a 2025 SAIDI score of 31.1 minutes – meaning the average Member experienced only about half an hour of outage time all year. That equates to 99.99% power availability.

Simple, Transparent Rates

CoServ's rates are straightforward with no hidden fees, gimmicks, or expiring contracts. Members and Customers never need to shop around for a better deal. Learn more at CoServ.com/Rates.

Commitment to Community

The CoServ Charitable Foundation (CCF) provides more than $1 million in grants annually to local nonprofits. CoServ is also active across all 23 school districts it serves, offering scholarships, supporting education foundations, and providing meals and special perks for teachers.
